where to start?
As
a counsellor, I want to feel sure that I am the right
person to work with you. The first session offers an opportunity for you to talk in as much, or as little, detail
as you are comfortable with, about what is troubling you.
I will listen carefully
to what you tell me, and sometimes I will ask questions. By asking questions both of us can assess whether
counselling is right for you at this time.
The number of sessions required is often
difficult to predict. You must decide this for yourself.
Sometimes there are additional issues identified as well as the main presenting problem. Please remember, you are the one who sets the pace of the work and you are free
to terminate counselling at any time.
I
always aim to create a positive, non-judgmental working
relationship with all my clients. However, misunderstandings can, and
sometimes do, happen. For this reason, I may need to ask more questions in order
to understand your issue fully. Should you, as a client, ever feel misunderstood
in any way, it is ok for you to ask me for clarification. I want all clients
to feel supported and able to trust in the counselling process. Each session usually
lasts 50 minutes.
Payment
can be made using cash or cheque. Unfortunately, I do not accept credit or debit cards. Please read the Counselling Contract. if you choose to engage in counselling using email or live chat, Please read the ‘Terms of Service' before
sending your email.
Please be aware that, in accordance the Data Protection Act 1998, under
which I am registered, I am not allowed to disclose, publish or pass on to a third party, any of your personal details
or personally sensitive information about you. To better understand the Data Protection Act 1998 relating to 'electronically
